Maritime Launches Isolated Micro-VM Platform for Scaling Customer-Facing AI Agents

Maritime has launched a new infrastructure platform designed to solve the isolation and scaling challenges inherent in deploying customer-facing AI agents. Unlike traditional serverless functions or shared container runtimes, Maritime provisions a dedicated micro-VM for every single agent instance. This architectural choice ensures that each customer-facing agent operates with its own kernel, isolated secrets, and dedicated resources, preventing data leakage between tenants and eliminating the "noisy neighbor" problem common in shared environments.

The platform targets developers building multi-tenant AI applications who need to provide each end-user with a distinct, secure agent environment. Maritime handles the underlying infrastructure complexity, including automatic detection of the developer's framework, building the isolated environment, and managing the lifecycle from deployment to sleep and wake. Agents are sized to their specific workload and enter a low-power sleep state when idle, waking in approximately one second when traffic arrives. This model allows developers to scale from a single agent to thousands without managing server capacity or paying for idle compute time.

For developers, Maritime offers a standard integration path via TypeScript and Python SDKs, a REST API, and a CLI.
