General Intuition in Talks to Raise at $6B Valuation as It Pushes Into Physical AI
The AI startup, spun out of Medal, is attracting major investors as it pivots its action-model approach toward robotics.

General Intuition, the New York-based startup building a foundation model for generalized AI agents, is in talks to raise new funding at a $6 billion pre-money valuation, according to sources familiar with the matter. Valor Equity Partners, Point72 Ventures, and Seven Seven Six are among the new investors expected to participate, with existing backers Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst also joining. The round comes just weeks after the company raised $320 million at a $2.3 billion valuation, underscoring the intense investor appetite for startups tackling physical AI.
CEO Pim de Witte spun General Intuition out of Medal, his video game clip-sharing platform, last October. The company's initial dataset leverages hundreds of millions of hours of gameplay and "action labels" — records of which buttons players pressed and when. This data is central to General Intuition's "large action models," which aim to train AI agents that can generalize across tasks in the physical world. Vinod Khosla has said these action labels could be key to the "emergence of intuition," where models generalize beyond their explicit training.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to improve its general model with a focus on robotic embodiments, spending more on compute infrastructure (including a partnership with CoreWeave) and hiring more talent. The round is reportedly oversubscribed, though still being finalized. Valor Equity Partners, known for backing SpaceX, would be making its first AI lab investment if confirmed, a signal that physical AI is becoming a mainstream bet among top-tier investors.
